Superman: Legacy star Rachel Brosnaham has provided fans with a new update on the development of Superman: Legacy.

First announced in December 2022, Superman: Legacy will serve as the entry in Gunn and co-DC Studios head, Peter Safran’s revamped DC Universe.

As such, a lot is riding on the production, which Gunn himself set to both write and direct. And with Superman: Legacy news breaking on a semi-regular basis, fans’ scrutiny of the superhero reboot has only intensified.

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan were announced as Superman: Legacy’s leads in June 2023. Corenswet is best known for Netflix’s The Politician and Ti West horror flick Pearl. Meanwhile, Brosnahan has garnered considerable acclaim for the titular role in Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Brosnahan revealed that she has tried on “a lot of costumes” for Superman: Legacy and that production is truly ramping up for the new reboot.

The actor also shared that the cast and crew have been meeting each other over the last couple of months and are all excited to begin filming.

“Some of us met for the first time. Some of us got to see each other again. It was amazing to hear the script out loud. As with all of these films, there’s a lot of action sequences and things. So to hear the pacing of the film and to get to hear these characters occupied by the actors who play them is really fun. It’s also a great group. You can’t ask for more than that when doing something like this.”

Brosnahan also revealed why she was excited to play Lois Lane and that she has been a fan of the character for years.

“I have always loved Lois Lane. She’s smart, ambitious and can be funny. She knows she’s the smartest person in the room more often than not. When the opportunity came on…I’m such a fan of James Gunn from afar…we’re still finding these characters. We haven’t started shooting yet. You’ll meet the final version of them.”
