Stranger Things fans are preparing for the final episodes of season 4, but Spotify is helping those would-be victims of Vecna.

Season 4 of Stranger Things has been a return to form for the show after two years away. Moreso than any other season before, the fourth season is heavily intertwined with the music of the 80s, featuring one song in particular.

Spoilers for Stranger Things season 4 ahead…

In season 4, viewers were introduced to the new antagonist, Vecna, who has a deep backstory and connection to Eleven.

Stranger Things fans can find their best song to escape Vecna, thanks to Spotify.

Stranger Things revealed that Vecna had been a patient at the same lab where Eleven was raised, but had killed almost all the other children before Ele blasted him into the Upside Down.

In addition, Season 4 also included perhaps the best scene in the entire show, in which Max is trapped in the Upside Down with Vecna.

As she is about to be absorbed into Vecna’s army, the others on the outside realize that they can communicate to her via music. By playing Max’s favorite song, “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” by Kate Bush, they are able to help Max escape the Upside Down, which previous victims Chrissy, Fred, Patrick, and his own mother, weren’t able to do.

Stranger Things showed how music is the only way to escape Vecna.

Ahead of the new episodes, set to release on July 1, Spotify has teamed up with Stranger Things to let users find the song that could save them from Vecna.

By going onto your Spotify account, you can find an “Upside Down Playlist” of the 50 songs that your friends should try in the event you’re ever pulled into the Upside Down. The Spotify description says “Discover your personal playlist to help you escape from Vecna and the Upside Down.”

Each playlist is curated to include popular songs that you have played, along with other similar songs. Unlike Max, not all playlists are heavy with 80s pop, as rap, metal, or jazz fans will find songs from their favorite genres in this playlist.

Fans can prepare for Vecna by checking out their Spotify Upside Down Playlist before new Stranger Things episodes drop.
