Robert Downey Jr. channeled his best Tony Stark impression during his heartfelt and hilarious SAG Award acceptance speech.

The 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last night and saw a lot of winners from Pedro Pascal to the cast of Succession.

One of those esteemed winner was none other than Robert Downey Jr. who took home the award for his role in Christopher Nolan’s epic biopic Oppenheimer.

During Downey’s acceptance speech, the actor managed to channel his charismatic Marvel character Tony Stark as his delivered a heartfelt yet hilarious message.

The actor took home the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role for his role as Rear Admiral Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer.

Downey began his speech in a way that reminded viewers of his charming and notoriously non-humbled MCU character Tony Stark as he definitely wasn’t shy about patting himself on the back.

“Why me? Why now? Why do things seem to be going my way?” Downey joked, “Unlike my fellow nominees, I will never grow tired from the sound of my voice.”

Downey went on to list many iconic actors who have inspired him over his career including Jodie Foster, Whoopi Goldberg, and Oppenheimer co-star Cillian Murphy.

He continued to play up his Stark charms by shouting out his wife, Susan, and adding her to the list of his inspiring colleagues explaining, “For 22 years, she has flawlessly portrayed a sane and rational individual who is happily married to an actor.”
