Actor Iman Vellani may love the MCU just as much as Ms Marvel loves Captain Marvel, but she didn’t give as good a score.

People are loving one of the newest MCU hero on the block. In this case, it’s Ms. Marvel, a high school girl from New Jersey who admires Captain Marvel and wants to follow in her footsteps, becoming a hero in her own right along the way.

The star of the show, Iman Vellani, has become a fan-fave in her own right, mainly due to the fact that she is a major Marvel fan herself.

However, it seems like not every MCU movie was a hit with her, and ironically we’re referring to her mentor’s film, 2019’s Captain Marvel.

Ms. Marvel only gave Captain Marvel 2 stars

It’s a well known fact amongst MCU fans that Iman Vellani is just as big a fan, if not bigger. This may have helped her land the role of Ms. Marvel, and it led her to be an unofficial consultant on the set of upcoming film The Marvels.

The Marvels is set to star heroes we’ve already seen before. Brie Larson is reprising her role as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, and she’ll be teaming up with WandaVision’s Monica Rambeau/Spectrum (Teyonah Parris) and of course, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani).

A recently released synopsis for the movie has revealed that the trio will be forced to team up and work together in order to save the universe after “unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.”

However, while Ms Marvel chooses her name as an ode to her personal inspiration, Captain Marvel, turns out that Iman Vellani didn’t much rate her solo movie. In fact, it has been discovered on the popular movie reviewing website Letterboxd that Vellani only gave Captain Marvel 2 stars.

Thankfully, Vellani made it clear that she supported Larson in the review – stating “These stars are not for Brie Larson, I will sacrifice my own life…for Brie Larson” – so there likely won’t be any bad blood on set.

Although The Marvels was originally due to drop in theaters on July 28, the movie was delayed, and will now release on November 10.

Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel are both currently streaming on Disney+.
