Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani has confirmed that she will be returning to the MCU, but there’s one catch to her comeback.

Acting as one of the last TV projects of Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Phase 4, Ms. Marvel completely won fans over thanks to the charming performance from its lead Iman Vellani.

The series follows teenager Kamala Khan as she suddenly gets super powers and must defend her family and friends from a lethal threat that wants to destroy her home of New Jersey.

Though Ms. Marvel was only a mini series, Vellani has appeared in other MCU projects, like The Marvels, and has recently revealed that she will be returning for future adventures, but there’s one catch to it.

Vellani isn’t sure when her MCU comeback will occur

Polygon recently caught up with the actress during the 2024 Anime Awards where they asked her about her return to the MCU.

Last time fans saw Vellani was in 2023’s team up film The Marvels, where she went on a world saving mission with Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau, but they weren’t sure when or if she would be seen again.

“I have been assured,” Vellani said about her return to the MCU, “So that feels good, but there was no more assurance than that. They give me breadcrumbs, and I try and make a meal out of it.”

Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting Vellani’s return to the hero universe as The Marvels ended with Kamala visiting Hawkeye’s Kate Bishop in what has been confirmed to be the beginning of the Young Avengers.

So far, the aged down version of the iconic hero team will consist of Ms. Marvel, Bishop, Stinger (Ant-Man’s Cassie Lang), America Chavez (Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness), and Wiccan (WandaVision’s Billy).

Though the studio hasn’t outright confirmed an upcoming film for the young team, most of the members have been introduced at this point and, with Vellani at the helm of forming the team, her inclusion in the MCU’s future is bright.
