Actor Ewan McGregor has revealed that there has been “no talk” of an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 but assured he would “love to do” it if he gets the chance.

Star Wars fans have been treated to a vast array of new content in recent years, most of which has come in the form of TV shows that have aired on Disney+.

While some of these series already have multiple seasons, one major show is yet to begin development or even get a green light for a second outing. The series in question being Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The first season of Obi-Wan Kenobi aired on Disney+ throughout 2022. There was much anticipation when the show first dropped as both Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen returned to the Star Wars franchise for the first time since the prequel trilogy.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fan-favorite character in the Star Wars universe.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 was received with mixed reception by fans and critics alike, though currently sits at 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. As such, many have been wondering if and when a second season will come and what that could look like in regards to the greater Star Wars universe.

However, McGregor’s recent comments might not be the update fans were looking for. As first reported by Variety, the actor was asked during a panel at the Goteborg Film Festival if he has any updates on Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2.

The actor didn’t give much away but he did confirm that he has not heard anything in relation to a second season.

“I would love to do the second season, but there’s no talk of it yet,” McGregor began. Adding that, “there is a lot going on at Disney.”

Time will tell if McGregor does get the chance to reprise his role as Obi-Wan for a second season. However, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest news regarding the developing story.
