Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley admitted that her first experience with the franchise, the day she met Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, was “not great.”

Actor Daisy Ridley was shot into the world of stardom after she was cast as Rey in the most recent Star Wars trilogy. While the films are still a hotly debated topic within the Star Wars community, they did manage to do well at the box office.

And while the likes of John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and others from the trilogy have admitted they will likely not return to the franchise, Ridley is set to star in a brand new movie that will take place 15 years in the future from the events of Rise of Skywalker.

When discussing the new project, Ridley also admitted that her initial introduction to Star Wars was less than ideal.

Recounting the time she first met Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher when developing for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ridley explained how nerves got in the way.

In a recent interview with AlloCiné while on a press tour for her upcoming movie ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’, Ridley discussed her first encounter with the stars of the original trilogy Fisher and Ford.

Admitting that her nerves got the better of her during the early months of entering the Star Wars family.

“After the readthrough, me and John [Boyega] went to rehearse with J.J. [Abrams] because J.J. was like, ‘that was not great.’ So we literally had to go and rehearse straight away, because the nerves were so strong. But yes, I was very happy, just sitting there between Harrison [Ford] and Carrie [Fisher].”

However, Ridley can now look back on the experience with fond memories and is also looking forward to stepping back into the world of Star Wars for her upcoming movie.

“I loved making all three films, and I’m very happy to get to do it again.”
