The Marvel Studios production Wonder Man has reportedly suffered a devastating blow with the death of a crew member.

As reported by Deadline, a rigger has died in an on-set accident during the filming of Wonder Man.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident.” a Marvel spokesperson tells Deadline.

Specifics, including the nature of the accident and the name of the crew person, were not available as of this writing.

Wonder Man was not filming at the time but was preparing to resume production. It had previously been delayed due to the Writer’s Guild and Screen Actor’s Guild strikes.

Originally announced in 2022, Wonder Man stars Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as actor and stuntperson Simon Williams, who becomes the superhero Wonder Man after gaining superpowers. The series also stars Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, Lauren Glazier, Josh Gad and Ed Harris.
