The wait is finally over – here’s everything we know about the brand-new trailer for Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Who doesn’t love a good anime series? Netflix is certainly queueing up for more, thanks to both blossoming original anime series and the astronomical success of its live-action One Piece show.

However, being a one-trick pony clearly isn’t good enough for the streaming platform, hoping to repeat its same pattern of success with the highly-anticipated Avatar: The Last Airbender.

With the series dropping on Netflix on February 22, a new thrilling trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender has finally been revealed.

Netflix drops thrilling new Avatar: The Last Airbender trailer

Netflix has just dropped its thrilling new trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender, which you can catch in full below:

The streaming platform’s official synopsis for the series reads: “Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope. But like a light in the darkness, hope springs forth when Aang (Gordon Cormier), a young Air Nomad – and the last of his kind — reawakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar.

“Alongside his newfound friends Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastical, action-packed quest to save the world and fight back against the fearsome onslaught of Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). But with a driven Crown Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) determined to capture them, it won’t be an easy task. They’ll need the help of the many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way.”

The trailer highlights the very beginnings of Aang’s journey, setting him up on a path that he doesn’t necessarily want to take. A variety of jaw-dropping landscapes are teased through fearsome action sequences, suggesting that Aang – and his friends – aren’t in for an easy time.

In addition to the Avatar trailer, the first poster for The Last Airbender was also revealed by Netflix earlier this week.

“I’m excited to experience the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender once again! In anticipation of the new trailer dropping tomorrow, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia and curiosity. It’s incredible how a well-crafted story can leave a lasting impact on our minds and hearts,” one fan posted on X/Twitter in response to the release.

Judging by Netflix’s One Piece adaptation – alongside the above trailer – fans can hope for a relatively faithful adaptation of the original anime series, though some surprises might be just around the corner.
