LG announced its upcoming premium OLED TVs at the CES 2024. While the company did talk about some of the features and specifications of this line-up, it didn’t reveal two key details – price and availability.
Now, putting a rest to all the rumors and assumptions, the South Korean tech giant has shared the pre-order details and announced the official pricing of the premium OLED TVs.
Interestingly, LG has shared details for the LG G4 and C4 OLED TVs, but it has still not made the pricing of its affordable OLED lineup – the B3 series.
That said, the LG G4 Evo OLEDs have become more expensive than the LG G3 series. However, they have all the features to upgrade your home entertainment setup and offer a good cinematic experience right in your living room.
Where to buy the LG G4 OLED: Price explained
The price of LG G4 OLED TVs starts at $2599, and it is available to pre-order via LG’s official website. While the TV will eventually be available on other shopping platforms, we’re unsure about the dates.

A quick look at the launch price of the LG G3 OLED shows that the price of the LG G4 OLED lineup has increased by at least $100 each for the 55-, 65-, and 77-inch variants. The cost of the 83-inch version has remained the same, while the 97-inch is a fresh addition to this lineup.
LG G4 OLED TV: Release date
LGThe LG G4 OLED is up for pre-order on LG’s website, and it expects to ship the TVs at the end of March 2024.
While the TVs were announced in January, the company has only now announced the availability details. However, we initially expected the TVs to be available around April. If things go well, users can get hold of their G4s by March-end.

As mentioned above, the LG G4 OLED is available in multiple sizes, from the affordable ones at 55-inch and 65-inch to the massive 77-inch, 80-inch, and a new 93-inch option.
The G4 OLED has a Micro Lens Array (MLA) OLED panel, which is exceptionally bright, making the G4 TVs the brightest OLED panels you can buy. The company claims this panel can reach 3000 nits of peak brightness. However, the top-end variants, with a 93-inch display, don’t have an MLA panel, and people looking for a large and super bright OLED TV should choose the smaller models.
Moreover, the 97-inch TV is remarkably pricey compared to the 87-inch version, making the top-end variant a poor choice regarding features and value for money.
As per LG Display, the company that makes these panels, these panels are at least 30% brighter than conventional displays.
The new Alpha 11 processor is powering these new TVs, a massive upgrade over the predecessor. This new chipset is 4 times more powerful than the Alpha 9 chipset and can handle resource-hungry AI tasks easily.
This new processor’s key features are Max Peak Highlighter, AI Picture Pro mode, AI Director Processing, and more. Together, these features can enhance the brightness of a specific scene by up to 150%, better define objects on the screen, and enhance the colors in the imagery.
LGIt also features Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode, which lets you enjoy movies and shows with Dolby Vision HDR and view them with the same minimal processing level found in regular Filmmaker Mode.
The Alpha 11 processor will also help enhance the audio output of the TV and will now feature an improved virtual 11.1.2 surround sound.
In terms of design, the LG G4 OLED carries the same thin form factor, offering a premium look and feel. If you plan to mount the TV on a wall, it will sit flush with the wall without any gaps. The smaller 55-inch version comes with a stand to place it atop a table. You also get a near bezel-less display, resulting in the content showing right up to the edge of the TV.
The LG G4 OLED is also one of the best TVs for gaming. It has four HDMI 2.1 ports, LG’s Game Optimizer menu, and ALLM and VRR. The TV supports a screen refresh rate of 120Hz to 144Hz and is the first LG TV to have full Nvidia G-Sync certification.
An in-house WebOS 24 operating system powers the LG G4 OLED. The company claims this TV will get up to five years of operating system updates. While the operating system might not have as many apps and games as the Google TV platform, it is still great to have software support to keep the TV updated with the latest features until 2028.
Should you get the LG G4 OLED at launch?
LGThe LG G4 OLED is among the most powerful and the best TVs on the market right now. Not only does it have a powerful processor, but it also boasts a ton of AI-powered features and probably the best and brightest OLED panel on any TV.
LG’s commitment to offering long-term software support, which prolongs the life of a costly TV, is also the icing on the cake.
If design, aesthetics, and visual experience are a priority for you, then the LG G4 OLED should be an easy choice. While it is slightly costlier than the LG G3, it offers many upgrades and additional features that make the higher price manageable.
Remember that you might have to spend a bit on an external sound bar and be mentally prepared to spend more than most regular TVs.
That said, if you’re tight on the budget and do not want to spend a fortune on a TV, you can still get the LG G3 OLED. Not only is it just a year-old model, but you might get it way cheaper thanks to various deals and discounts.
