Starfield fans are sharing their excitement over new performance upgrades that recently hit the game through the latest patch.

Starfield was one of the biggest games of 2023. While the launch of the Xbox Series S/X struggled to compete with the PlayStation 5 due to limited exclusive titles, Starfield helped boost the big green machine throughout 2023.

Even breaking the record for the most Game Pass downloads in a single day. And while fans of the RPG genre have been slogging their way through Starfield, a new update for the game has added a new level of performance to the title.

A long-requested upgrade that fans have been sharing their happiness about across social media and forums. One Redditor user took the platform to share their thoughts on the new performance updates.

In the post, the Redditor wrote how this upgrade has given them faith that developer Bethesda is on the right track with Starfield as it continues to evolve throughout 2024.

“Just wanted to share my excitement about the recent update that dropped with FSR 3.0 and Frame Generation. It’s an absolute game-changer for me. Despite owning an aging RX 5700XT, I went from 40 to 90fps in New Atlantis. The performance leap is monumental.

“The upscaling is surprisingly very good too, although I feel some slightly blurry edges at times. But seriously, once you’ve experienced this level of performance, there’s no turning back.”

While the patch itself has been received well, it’s also inspired confidence for fans of the game moving forward. “I’m feeling a bit more confident about Bethesda; I hope the next major update will dazzle us and add some quality-of-life improvements!”

“I thought people were exaggerating when they talked about the performance boost in the beta, but no, I went from 30 to 70 fps at 1440p…” another player chimed in.

So if you haven’t already gone back to space, there’s seemingly never been a better time to do so with Starfield’s latest patch drastically improving performance.
