A Pokemon TCG player received a blister pack from their grandma that seems to be more than $2,000 unopened.

Larger and more costly than the standard TCG booster pack, blister packs usually come filled with a promo card, three boosters, and a collectible item of some kind.

The real prize rests in whatever design the promo card consists of, sometimes a holo or reverse holo exclusive to the blister pack in hand. In other words, these types of Pokemon TCG packages are nothing shy of incredibly valuable.

One Pokemon card collector recently learned just how valuable they may be upon receiving a blister from their late grandmother.

Pokemon TCG player’s grandma left them high-valued blister pack

A user in the PokemonTCG subreddit recently revealed that after their grandmother passed, they found a package stashed in her closet with their name on it. The gift contained a surprise blister pack, with a Legendary Collection constituting one of the three boosters.

When asked if they planned on opening the blister or leaving it sealed, the Pokemon TCG collector shared, “I’m on the fence about it.”

Several people joined the conversation to dissuade the Redditor from opening the pack, mainly because of its value.

One person wrote, “I would not recommend it, this blister is insanely valuable…” The commenter shared a link to an eBay listing wherein someone sold a similar-looking, factory-sealed blister pack for an astounding $2,175 just last week.

After seeing the eBay listing, didn’t take long for other users to join the “don’t open it” side of the argument.

The Pokemon TCG player has yet to specify their plans for the gift. But no one would blame them if they decided to hold onto it for a long time to come.
