Ever wondered what Pokemon from the darkest depths of the ocean might look like? One talented artist has shared their abyssal creation, much to the delight of Pokemon fans online.

If you’ve spent some time flicking through the PokeDex, you’ll know that Pokemon can be found everywhere – from the tallest trees to the depths of the seas.

One talented artist in the Pokemon community took to Instagram lately to share their deep sea interpretation of a fan-favorite Gen 1 Pokemon. Fans were delighted, insisting that the artist should be hired by the official Pokemon team immediately.

Pokemon players love abyssal Starmie interpretation

Originally posted here, artist @paracetaa.box shared their interpretation of what Starmie would look like if it came from the depths of the ocean. They titled the post ‘Abyssal Pokemon – Research 1’ and asked viewers to guess which sea creature the design was based off of.

Fans were thrilled with the piece, with one person noting: “that design is unbelievably amazing omg. No cap they need to hire you” and another saying “WOW. Makes me wish Pokemon had an astral type.”

One Pokemon enthusiast in the comments congratulated paracetaa.box on their talent, saying “I never knew how cool deep sea variants of Pokemon would be until now and I love it!!!!!”

Alongside some digs at Game Freak and The Pokemon Company, viewers suggested other variants that could make for an interesting Abyssal Pokemon. One creative viewer suggested a Ghost type Wailord and an Octillery inspired by vampire squids.

The Pokemon community clearly loved this piece – and who knows? Maybe we’ll see something similar added to a game in the future.
