Ever heard of a camera-shy Pokemon? One Pokemon Violet player recently shared a clip of of their Lucario who appears to be strongly opposed to taking a selfie.

The camera function in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a lot of fun. It allows you to snap pictures of the sky, of your character, and of your party of Pokemon, too making it a perfect way to record your adventures to look back on later.

It’s a fairly standard feature, but Pokemon Violet player dimsumlasagna recently posted a funny clip of their camera mishap to r/PokemonScarletViolet that shows what can happen when the camera feature decides to play up, or when a Pokemon really doesn’t want to be photographed.

Pokemon Violet player gets camera “punched” out of hands

Posting on Reddit with the caption “did you know that your Pokemon could punch you out of camera mode? Bc I did not”, is a hilarious example of a minor glitch messing with someone’s game.

In the clip, dimsumlasagna can be seen hanging out with their Pokemon at a beachside picnic before trying to take a selfie with the camera.

The Lucario spots the camera, makes a beeline for it, and then whacks it, causing the camera menu to close.

Pokemon fans in the thread agreed “he did NOT want his picture taken” and suggested that Lucario was simply “sick of the paparazzi”.

“Is your lucario a problem child too? mine loves to throw the balls super far, especially when we’re near water” joked another player proving that this Pokemon seems to cause trouble for multiple fans.

As some keen-eyed readers pointed out, what actually seems to have happened is Lucario pelted the ball at the user which in turn caused them to move. If you’re moving in Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, you can’t have the camera open. It’s much funnier to assume Lucario was protesting being part of an Instagram photo dump, though.
