A lot has been announced for Pokemon Go players lately, including a brand-new season. Lots of things look good about it – except players aren’t so sure about the logo.

It’s a good time to be a Pokemon Go player. A new event just got announced in a Pokemon Presents which will be introducing some fan-favorite creatures into the game, and a brand new season is just about to start, too.

There are lots of things to get excited about with this new season – although according to some players in r/pokemongo, this does not include the logo and theme. While some players seem excited about the World of Wonders season, others aren’t quite sold yet.

Originally popping up in this Reddit post, a Pokemon Go player took to Reddit to share their frustrations over the new World of Wonders season logo artwork, sharing it with the caption “graphic design is my passion”.

The original poster wrote “this is seriously terrible” in the caption and noted that the logo looked as if it had been made in Microsoft Paint. Other Pokemon Go players were split on whether they liked the World of Wonders theme or not.

One of the common themes pointed out in the replies was a serious Wonka vibe. A player joked that they thought it could be a “Wonka movie collab” and another agreed that the logo for the season looked “like the logo to some Easter themed candy”.

Some other comparisons were made, with fans bringing up ties to RuPaul’s Drag Race based on the name and others mentioning similarities to Lisa Frank’s artwork based on the color scheme.

While some players definitely agreed with the original poster that the logo was terrible, others weren’t so sure. One player noted that “There’s a big difference between objectively bad and just not liking something” and said that the logo was technically fine, just not suited to everyone’s tastes.

Some Pokemon Go players were excited about the design, with one person noting that, “Controversially I don’t hate it, if anything it’s different from what we’ve seen before” and another mentioning that it made them feel nostalgic.
