Pokemon fans split over which Pokemon still need an evolution

Evolution is one of the most talked about topics in the Pokemon community and recently, Pokemon fans put their heads together to decide which mons still need an evolution or pre-evolution form.

Finding a new favorite Pokemon and then realizing that it’s only got one form can be a little disappointing. Sorry Drampa, you’re basic.

Something is exciting about seeing a new evolution for the first time, and a group of Pokemon fans recently got together on r/Pokemon to discuss which Pokemon are the most deserving of a brand new evolution or pre-evolution form.

Pokemon players debate which evolutions should be added

The group of Pokemon players who took part in this discussion – originally posted by user Ephemerul – were fairly split between adding evolutions for design purposes or for competitive purposes.

Ephemerul noted that they’d love to see Delibird, Zangoose, and Spinda, along with a baby version of Sableye because the mon is “so unique and cool looking”. They also emphasized how cool it would be to have a Ghost Eeveelution, too.

Eevee can be seen fairly frequently in this thread, with fans sharing their ideas on what the next Eeveelution should be. One person even suggested a pre-evolution form for Eevee (noting that it’s only fair as Pikachu has one) and said “GIVE EEVEE A PREEVEE”.

Other fans chimed in with their own suggestions, with one Skarmory fan demanding that Game Freak give their “shiny metal bird” an evolution. However, a popular fan theory does suggest Skarmory was meant to be part of an evolution line originally.

One fan even referenced their homebrew Dungeons and Dragons game, describing how their Dungeon Master came up with unique evolutions for Tropius and Stonejourner.

Tropius is one of the most frequently seen Pokemon in this thread, along with Seviper, Lapras, and Kangaskhan. Shuckle and Absol came up often, too. Many fans would love to see these Pokemon get some more attention, perhaps in future additions to the series.

Alongside these suggestions, some fans bought up previous Mega evolutions and noted how they should “pull those designs out of the dumpster” and use them as regular evolutions.
