A Pokemon player has proposed to their now fiancee with an amazing custom-made Pokemon TCG card and Poke Ball.

As Pokemon draws closer to its thirtieth anniversary, the number of people who grew up with the franchise since birth continues to grow. This is due to the original PokeMania kids having grown up and now having children of their own.

There are also many Pokemon fans with disposable income, hence the rising price of Pokemon merch, like the old cards. This has led to a cottage industry of fan-made products, which can be customized to the customer’s needs.

As such, Pokemon fans have turned to creating or buying their own items when the time comes to propose, with the old “ring in the Poke Ball” being a particularly popular idea among the wannabe spouses of the world.

A Pokemon fan proposed with custom card & ball

A user on the Pokemon Reddit named OdoWanKenobi has shared the custom Poke Ball and the trading card they used to propose. The Poke Ball is designed after the Master Ball, which has a guaranteed 100% catch rate, which must have worked, as she said yes.

The other users in the thread quickly congratulated the happy couple, appreciating the Pokemon-themed proposal method.

“My girlfriend would love this lol. Just swap out the Pokemon on the artwork of the card to a Bulbasaur (hers) and a Charizard (me). I love nerdy couples like this!” commented one fan. Another highlighted, “That’s awesome! If my fiancé loved Pokémon as much as me I would have done the same thing!”

One hopeless romantic in the chat had an even better idea: “Should have busted in while she was pooping, kneeled, show off the ring, and yell, “Poopaboo, I choose you!”

The Pokemon Company does actually make Pokemon-themed wedding items, but they can be extremely expensive, with many being Japan-exclusive items. If you want a full Pokemon wedding, you better get a Meowth and start spamming Pay Day.

As such, many fans have to go the custom route, which adds an extra degree of affection, as it requires more thought and planning than buying something.
