Pokemon Day 2024 is almost here. There’s plenty to get hyped for this year, ranging from exciting Pokemon League giveaways to a Direct presentation.

There’s one special event lined up for New York Pokemon fans that’s sure to go down well, though. If you’re in the area, you’ll want to head to the Empire State Building on the 27th of February this year for a unique guest appearance – along with some Pokemon Go exclusives.

Empire State Building event lined up for Pokemon Day 2024

As announced in an official TPCi press release, there’s a lot happening at the Empire State Building on Pokemon Day this year.

Firstly, the Captain Pikachu mascot will be there all day to celebrate the USA launch of Pokemon Horizons: The Series. If you’ve missed this story, Pokemon Horizons: The Series will be dropping on March 7th for American viewers.

Alongside this, the Empire State Building will be lit up with blue and yellow lights to celebrate Pokemon Day. This will be taking place from sunset to 2AM PST, and it should be pretty spectacular.

There’s also a Pokemon Go event taking place at the Empire State Building on the 27th of February where players can take part in exclusive Timed Research tasks and catch party hat Pikachus. There will also be themed PokeStops in the area and a high chance of attracting Unown with Lures.

Out of all the festivities, though, the most important thing that’s happening on this day is that The Pokemon Company International is donating $10K to The Toy Foundation, a NY charity that aims to support children and families in need.

If you’re unable to attend the event, make sure to check out the Empire State Building on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. There’ll be live content from Captain Pikachu on all the official social media channels for the building throughout the day.
