Overwatch 2 players pick surprising hero as the most “fun” to play

Overwatch 2 players are often focused on playing the strongest, most meta heroes, as long as they’re not blatantly “OP” like some thought Mauga was at launch.
However, for others, playing Overwatch isn’t about winning or moving up in rank, which some players find can be too much of a grind. For these people, the game is about having the most fun possible, with crazy team comps and ridiculous plays.
These fans voted on which Hero in Overwatch 2 Season 8 they found was the most fun to play, but some were surprised by the result.

Reddit user Zombridal asked the Overwatch community to vote on which heroes they thought were the most fun to play in Season 8, and shared the results in a graph. While the sample size was small, with only 200 votes, the results were still interesting – and for some, controversial.
“After 1 day votes have stopped coming in, so here’s the final rankings in the “overwatch fun graph”.
Lucio was the top-voted Hero with 20 votes, and this shocked a lot of Overwatch fans.
“Zarya at 0 is insane,” one person said. “You people clearly don’t know how to BBBBZZZZZZZTT the enemy,” they continued.
Another tank player agreed but was more surprised by Doom not being the top Hero. “No way Doom only got 7, bro’s literally a KOF character,” they complained, referencing the punch-happy fighting game King of Fighters.
However other players were glad to see Lucio rewarded the most fun character, feeling the music-blasting speedster was the obvious choice.
“Characters with good movement that’s fun to learn and master are higher? No way totally didn’t expect that,” one player joked, referencing Lucio’s movement tech and rollouts. “FIX LUCIO BOOP AND THIS WOULD BE A BLOWOUT AND NOT EVEN A DEBATE,” another agreed, referencing the community opinion that Lucio’s “boop” ability has felt strange for a while now.
Still, other players have been loving Prop Hunt more than the standard game mode, and have devised some ingenious tricks to avoid being discovered.
