Blizzard has released a video thanking Overwatch fans as the Anniversary celebrations come to a close.

Overwatch has recently been celebrating two years since its full release, with the game having launched on May 24 2016.

The major aspect of the celebrations was the Anniversary in-game event, which ran from May 22 to June 11. The Anniversary event introduced new content, such as skins and a new Deathmatch map, but also served as a celebration of the past two years, bringing back Brawls and skins from previous events.

Overwatch has very much been a living game over its lifespan so far, with a constant flow of new content through in-game events, new maps and heroes, and updates to existing content. The most recent PTR patch, for instance, features a complete overhaul of Symmetra, the second major rework to the hero since the game’s release.

Now that the event has come to a close, Blizzard has released a video thanking the Overwatch community – which now features more than 40 million players – for the immense support that the game has received

The video features various members of the Blizzard Overwatch team representing a multitude of countries and languages. Prominent figures like game director Jeff Kaplan and Overwatch League Commissioner Nate Nanzer feature, but so too do members of the German, Chinese, Korean, and several other teams.
