A fake Helldivers 2 game has appeared on Steam with a tantalizing 75% off, but players have quickly discovered it’s a scam.

Helldivers 2 is one of the most popular games of 2024, with thousands of players from around the world logging in daily to help save Super Earth. In fact, the game has proven so popular that the devs have had to increase server capacity to meet the ever-growing demand.

The recent Helldivers 2 mech leaks and new cosmetics have only served to add to the game’s hype, so it’s only natural that the community continues to grow. However, a recent Steam scam involving a fake listing of the game has managed to fleece prospective Helldivers of their hard-earned money.

A Helldivers 2 Steam scam has tricked players

Posting on X, Wario64 revealed that a game by the name of Figurality had changed its name, publisher, and developer to those associated with Helldivers 2. The game in question was originally named Figurality but has since refashioned its Steam store page to look identical to that of Helldivers 2.

To make matters even worse, the fake Helldivers 2 game listed itself as having a 75% and 50% sale in the hopes of making some quick cash. Unfortunately, it looks like the scam has worked, and the game’s store page has been littered with unhappy reviews, with players calling out the scam.

“This is a scam. The real Helldivers 2 was released in February. Do not give this person your money. I did it for the sake of this review and to spread awareness,” wrote one player. Others also called out the fake title, urging players not to buy it. “Not actually Helldivers 2. This is trash shovelware disguised as another game to scam people.”

While the game looks to have now been pulled from Steam, for many, the damage has already been done. If you’ve been impacted by the recent scam, then be sure to request a refund and contact Steam support.
