Genshin Impact players want these 4-star characters promoted to 5-star

The Genshin Impact community has highlighted 4-star characters they’d like to see receive the 5-star treatment. 

Genshin Impact is brimming with colorful characters that players can unlock via the game’s banner system. Each major update adds new 4 and 5-star characters to the game, which gives the community plenty of choice when it comes to building the perfect team. 

Each character comes packed with a specific element and a unique kit, which help to make them standout. However, there are certain 4-star characters that many Genshin Impact players believe should receive a 5-star variant. So, here are the most popular choices handpicked by the fans themselves. 

Genshin Impact players want 5-star Ningguang & Kaeya 

“I definitely [think Ningguang] should have been a 5-star,” commented one Genshin player. “She’s too important and seemed pretty strong in the cutscene. Like if Keqing is a 5-star she should have been too.”

Many commenters shared the same opinion and believe Ningguang is a strong 5-star character candidate. The Genshin community even had ideas for leveling up her kit to make it more in line with other 5-star characters. 

“To improve Ningguang’s kit I think every catalyst should follow their attack string more smoothly like Yanfei,” explained one commenter. “Make her projectiles track targets better. Or maybe even completely remove the hitbox part of it. It’s just an animation, it should just apply damage regardless of what the animation does.”

Another 4-star that cropped up a lot was Kaeya, the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius. “Kaeya is rumored to be on par with Diluc in lore, so he deserves to be a 5-star,” noted one player. “Also, make him summon an ice wall or something like he does in the manga, it’s awesome!”

The Genshin community also believes that Kaeya could even have a lore-relevant reason if HoYoverse were to give him a 5-star version. This largely comes down to his connection with Khaenri’ah, a region known for its role in the “cataclysm” 500 years ago.  

There’s still a lot we don’t know about Kaeya, and it’s for this reason, that many players believe a 5-star Kaeya would be the perfect way to unleash his full potential. 

“I think Kaeya has the highest chance of getting a 5-star upgrade. His arc hasn’t concluded yet and he is still going to be heavily involved later on I suspect when we go back to Mondstadt. I don’t know about his kit though and while it’s a stretch to say this, if there’s a new element later on for Khaenri’ah then maybe he’ll switch to it?”

Whether HoYoverse will ever give existing 4-star Genshin Impact characters 5-star variants remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a popular idea.
