Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios is looking for more staff to cater to the surprising demand for the game, much like Palworld’s devs just weeks prior.

2024 has already been full of surprises in gaming and we’re not even a quarter of the way through. Helldivers 2 has exploded in popularity to the point where it experienced some server issues due to the unexpectedly high demand from players.

A similar situation happened with Palworld earlier in the year when it launched to massive player acclaim. Helldivers 2 is obviously in good company as it’s set to mirror another chapter in Palworld’s story.

CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios Johan Pilestedt took to X to announce the studio would be seeking new developers. Much like its contemporary, this is to keep up with the game’s massive popularity, something they didn’t quite anticipate to this degree.

Pilestedt states as much in his post on X where he revealed that there were plans to increase the speed and quality of the game’s future updates. “With the success of Helldivers 2, we are going to start looking for more amazing developers that can help us accelerate and beef up our content plans,” he explained.

While many players in the comments begged Pilestedt for a glimpse into what that future content would be, he’s remained relatively tight-lipped on the matter. Others took time to thank him and the other devs at Arrowhead for giving them Helldivers 2.

“You guys have made one of the best co-op games ever made with Helldivers 2. Absolutely love you for it,” one user said. “Dude, this game came out of nowhere and has become my favorite game in years,” added another.

It’s fantastic feedback for a game that appeared relatively quiet in the lead-up to release. It also bodes well for future PlayStation console exclusives set for a simultaneous launch on PC.

Here’s hoping new developers enlist to improve the battle for glorious democracy.

While Helldivers 2 hasn’t seen the dramatic player counts of Palworld, the game is picking up speed on Steam.

It recently surpassed 200,000 concurrent players on PC alone and looks set for more growth in the coming days.
