With its multiplayer focus, in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League co-op is a huge part of the game. However, do you need to play with friends online, or can you play couch co-op? Here’s everything you need to know.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a game that is predicated entirely on playing with a team of four. While you can play through the game entirely solo, you’ll always be with Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot. With that, why not try to jump on with a couple of friends and play?

However, it’s all fun and games with you and a friend online, but what about people who are close to you? Running around a Braniac-addled Metropolis with a sibling or friend around your house sounds like a good time, but can you do it?

Here’s everything you need to know about local co-op and if you can utilize it in the game.

Can you play local co-op in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?

Unfortunately, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League does not feature local co-op. This is confirmed on the game’s official website FAQ, which says: “Co-op mode can only be played online with an internet connection.”

Of course, you can play with a friend locally if you have two platforms and two versions of the game, if you want to bring back the lan-party spirit.

If you do go that route, it’s worth noting the game features crossplay, so you and a friend can play on any platform, so that is at least one saving grace. Sadly though, if you just want to hand a controller to a buddy with you, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League isn’t the game for you.
