With the $30m World Cup fast approaching, Twitch star Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney labelled Fortnite “so dumb” after experiencing one of the biggest issues Epic Games currently face.

Qualifiers for the event – which will be the largest tournament prize pool in the history of esports – ended last week with many notable names missing out on a qualification spot including Team Liquid’s Ryan ‘Chap’ Chaplo and former FaZe member Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore.

Competitive players noticed a distinct advantage some players had regarding their connection – finding players with 0 ping were able to win more close quarter engagement. Ping relates to a player’s connection to the server and having lower ping allows players to place their builds before their opponent – meaning they can ‘steal’ walls to create opportunities to inflict damage.

EPIC GAMESHaving low ping is arguably the biggest advantage in competitive Fortnite.

As a result, Tfue moved his entire setup to boost his chances of qualifying, but was given a reminder of just how much of an annoying playing with increased ping can be while back in his Florida home.

After boxing up to fight an enemy, the 21-year-old was holding his wall before his foe replaced it instantly, allowing him to hit a quick pump shot, before replacing it a second time to get the elimination.

Tfue expressed his frustration immediately, suggesting the player lived in Pennsylvania – a state known for its low ping in Fortnite. “Come on Florida ping, stop cucking me,” he said. “He’s from Pennsylvania too – there’s no way. First try, yoinks my wall, interesting. Second try, yoinks my wall too.”

The TwitchCon winner continued his rant, blaming his poor connection for losing the engagement.

Tfue said: “This game is so dumb. It blows your fucking mind. My builds aren’t placing because I live in Florida where my internet is dogshit. Before this dude with 0 ping yoinks all my walls.”

The former H1Z1 pro was able to highlight just how effective playing with low ping can be when teaming up with Sentinel’s star Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf, a player who benefits from the best connection possible.

After multiple attempts to replace an enemy’s floor tile to no avail, Tfue asks Bugha to try instead, and he instantly steals it from his challenger to secure the elimination, much to his teammate’s amusement.

Ping is arguably the biggest issue that Epic Games must tackle in terms of competitive Fortnite, but given the complex nature of the problem, a solution that works for everyone will be difficult to find.

Challenges are often the best way to help boost your XP gains. Most can be knocked off in a matter of minutes for some of the biggest XP dumps possible in the battle royale. If you’ve already been ticking objectives off each week, you’ll feel right at home this time around.

Be on the lookout for enemies near Doom’s Domain this week.

You’ll be jumping around the map quite a bit this week as almost every challenge will take you to a new location. Finding eliminations at Craggy Cliffs should be a breeze as this is sure to be a hotspot over the next few days. Just be prepared for an immediate fight every time you drop here in Week 7.

The same can be said for Doom’s Domain as players will be looking to enter the vault for easy XP. Make sure you have a decent loadout before heading in as you’re sure to face some opposition here.

One rather unique challenge this week asks you to deal damage in a very specific way. First, you’ll need to find and equip Storm’s Whirlwind Blast ability. Once you’ve got an enemy in your sights, use this ability to knock them back. Once they’re pushed off course, you’ll then need to swap your weapons and deal 1,000 damage.

To tick off multiple challenges at once, you could always find Storm’s ability, then head to Craggy Cliffs, or even Coral Castle. The full list of objectives for Week 7 can be found below.

Stark Industries will be swarmed by teams looking for the secret Lake House

If you’re struggling with the unique tasks this week, here’s a few quick pointers. Storm’s ability can be used to knock enemies off high ground vantage points. Any fall damage will count towards your weekly objective.

Additionally, Tony Stark’s hidden Lake House can be found just North of the Stark Industries POI.
