Fortnite leaks shows Merry Marauder could return in very different form

A Gingerbread Man might be be on its way back to Fortnite Battle Royale, however it could take up a very different form on its return.

Textures of the ‘Merry Marauder’ skin are among many assets added in Fortnite’s Season 7 update, but based on the name of a leaked file, the Gingerbread Man character could be re-emerge as a Back Bling pet. 

The stern-faced character, which was last available in January, could be the newest addition to the Fortnite Pet character list. Current pets include cats, dogs and lizards.

A screenshot, which was revealed by FortTory, shows a texture pack which is labelled ‘MI_Pet_GingerBreadPack’.

While the texture pack and its name has been revealed, the return of the ‘Merry Marauder’ skin or a Gingerbread Man inspired piece of Back Bling has not yet been confirmed. 

Back Bling was brought into the game in Season 6, and it allows players to customize their backpacks with different designs.

Epic Games has introduced a number of new characters to Fortnite Battle Royale with the launch of Season 7. Skins include Zenith, Lynx, Sgt. Winter, Powder Trog, Onesie and The Ice King.

Other features introduced in Season 7 include the X-4 Stormwing fighter jets, ziplines, a snow biome with new locations, as well as an extremely powerful and controversial Infinity Blade sword.
