Guided Missile Back Pack Item Leaked to Return to Fortnite Battle Royale

New details have emerged about another back pack item set to be added to Fortnite Battle Royale, after data miners discovered files and descriptions of what sounds like the return of the guided missile.

The guided missile was previously in Fortnite as a regular weapon pick up, but was later vaulted after a majority of players felt it was too powerful in its current state.

As a result, Epic Games removed it saying “We share your concerns, so we’ve put the Guided Missile into the vault while we figure out the next steps for its future.”

That was back on April 17th, and as of yet there has been no news of its return to battle royale, leaving fans thinking it may never be reintroduced.

However, with the new item type of ‘back packs’, it looks like Epic may have found the solution for the Guided Missile that they were looking for.

Back pack items are not to be confused with ‘back bling’, which are the purely cosmetic items for your character to wear, but rather these items have a functioning purpose.

For example, the Jetpack was one such item, as was the leaked ‘Eye of the Storm tracker’, which was accidentally added to the game for a few hours before being quickly removed.

According to leaks from data miners @FNBRLeaks, animation files such show an item called ‘Guided Missile Pack’, as well as a description of the item which states “It’s back!”

There is also an image of the new version of the Guided Missile, which looks quite different to its previous iteration.

Of course, none of this is official and Epic Games have released no news of the guided missile’s return, but these files look pretty conclusive.

There is no date given for when it may be added, but with regular weekly updates, it is likely we see this in game very soon.
