Before Fortnite switched over to Chapter 2, Vending Machines that gave players some rare weapons and items covered the map, but they have since been removed – and players are wondering if they will ever return.

With the onset of Chapter 2, Epic Games removed many of the features Fortnite built up over 10 seasons.

While a number of the features removed were applauded, some of them are very missed, and players would be grateful to see them make an eventual return.

Fortnite players want even more content to return from the past.

One such feature includes the Vending Machines, which disappeared at the start of Chapter 2. These machines could make all the difference between a win or a loss at the end of the game, so it would certainly be nice to have them back in some capacity.

Perhaps Epic Games thought that implementing a fishing mechanic would remove the need of Vending Machines, since players could just fish up loot and ammo that way.

Given the fact that Epic brought back some familiar locations from the first map, it’s not out of the question that they can make similar moves with the potentially life-saving appliances.

Are Vending Machines coming back?

For those who want a comeback for this easy method of getting rare loot, it looks like there might be something going on behind the scenes that indicates their return in the near future.

Reddit user “whodatnola1025 captured a clip of themselves dropping into the map, and while the textures loaded, eagle-eyed viewers can catch a very quick glimpse of a Vending Machine popping up.

Are vending machines possibly going to make a comeback? Saw this in a duos game last night. You see a vending machine for a split second. from FortNiteBR

This is far from a confirmation that the machines will actually be making a return, but it does show that nothing’s ever really gone from Fortnite.

It’s certainly a blink-and-you-miss-it type moment, so if you can’t notice it while watching through the clip, we’ve got you covered.

The Vending Machine in all of its glory.

Epic Games haven’t mentioned anything about the machines returning, so it’s important not to put too much stock into this surprise appearance.

Until we get official word from the developers, we’ll just have to keep on speculating about the future of Fortnite.

As of January 14, it’s been over a month since the last update, so fans are starting to become impatient for new content.

The end of Chapter 2’s first season comes in February, and something will have to fill the void until then. We don’t know what that is just yet, but we’re sure Epic will have something planned.

Did The Rock just tease he’s getting a Fortnite skin?

After an appearance by a very cartoony-looking float during the Macy’s Thanksgivings Day Parade, The Rock hinted that he may end up getting a skin in the popular battle royale game Fortnite, although he’s being a bit vague.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade floats are known their pop culture references. Between Pikachu, Goku, and others making appearances, it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that one based on the popular young Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson meme a few years back would make its way into the 2020 version of the parade.

Seemingly because it’s a float, the giant balloon itself seems to be a cartoon representation of the meme, rather than a hyper-realistic one. After one person seemed to point out that it looks a bit like a Fortnite skin, the former wrestler now actor responded in a way that’s raising a few eyebrows.

In response to the comment about his float looking like a Fortnite character, The Rock simply responded with “way ahead of you” and “great minds”. This obviously caused a few people to pause and ask themselves if he just hinted at a Fortnite skin.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any official comment from Epic but the comment is certainly suspicious. While one could make the argument that The Rock was saying that he also had the same thought before the original tweeter, the wink face emoji seen after the tweet is a bit peculiar. Surely he would know not to put that kind of statement out with that emoji unless he meant to hint at it, right?

It’s also a bit odd that he also responded to someone who tweeted that they “shouldn’t give them any ideas”, meaning he could have been totally knowledgable in what he’s doing.

His inclusion in the game also wouldn’t be surprising. Fortnite is known for its crossovers at this point, even allowing for some Icon Series skins based on celebrities like Ninja and others. It could also be a part of a larger WWE crossover, considering there’s a plethora of characters there to make skins out of.

Still, until nothing official is announced, take this with a massive grain of salt. Here’s hoping that if it is real that it will get announced soon, however.
