Could Vending Machines return to Fortnite in Chapter 2?

Before Fortnite switched over to Chapter 2, Vending Machines that gave players some rare weapons and items covered the map, but they have since been removed – and players are wondering if they will ever return.

With the onset of Chapter 2, Epic Games removed many of the features Fortnite built up over 10 seasons.

While a number of the features removed were applauded, some of them are very missed, and players would be grateful to see them make an eventual return.

Fortnite players want even more content to return from the past.

One such feature includes the Vending Machines, which disappeared at the start of Chapter 2. These machines could make all the difference between a win or a loss at the end of the game, so it would certainly be nice to have them back in some capacity.

Perhaps Epic Games thought that implementing a fishing mechanic would remove the need of Vending Machines, since players could just fish up loot and ammo that way.

Given the fact that Epic brought back some familiar locations from the first map, it’s not out of the question that they can make similar moves with the potentially life-saving appliances.

Are Vending Machines coming back?

For those who want a comeback for this easy method of getting rare loot, it looks like there might be something going on behind the scenes that indicates their return in the near future.

Reddit user “whodatnola1025 captured a clip of themselves dropping into the map, and while the textures loaded, eagle-eyed viewers can catch a very quick glimpse of a Vending Machine popping up.

This is far from a confirmation that the machines will actually be making a return, but it does show that nothing’s ever really gone from Fortnite.

It’s certainly a blink-and-you-miss-it type moment, so if you can’t notice it while watching through the clip, we’ve got you covered.

The Vending Machine in all of its glory.

Epic Games haven’t mentioned anything about the machines returning, so it’s important not to put too much stock into this surprise appearance.

Until we get official word from the developers, we’ll just have to keep on speculating about the future of Fortnite.

As of January 14, it’s been over a month since the last update, so fans are starting to become impatient for new content.

The end of Chapter 2’s first season comes in February, and something will have to fill the void until then. We don’t know what that is just yet, but we’re sure Epic will have something planned.
