Fortnite’s v11.50 update reintroduced Launch Pads into the game, but with them came a new bug that could end up costing players some well-deserved Victory Royales.

Through most of Chapter 2’s first season, players were forced to traverse the gigantic map without the use of any mobility options.

Previous seasons had vehicles like Stormwing planes, Ballers, and even golf carts as a way to get around, but all of that has disappeared.

Epic GamesBallers, while hated, were a good source of mobility in Fortnite.

Finally, near the end of Season 1, Epic Games decided to throw players a bone and bring Launch Pads back into the game.

By having them again, it opened up many more playing styles because being stuck out in the storm was no longer such a big deal.

However, some costly bugs have entered the game as a result of their return.

Reddit user PuppyScrubber17 posted a clip showing that if you put down the Launch Pad over an object, not only will it not destroy the obstruction anymore, but it also won’t propel you into the air.

By the time they realize their escape route wasn’t going to work, they were already beamed by another player and eliminated from the game.

Obviously, that can end up being a very devastating glitch, so it’ll be important for the developers to get that one ironed out as soon as possible.

Given the fact the Launch Pad remains one of the only ways players can get around the map quickly, having a bug like this stay in the game would pretty much wipe out any of the uses they have.

Luckily, this doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue as of yet, so it could have just been a case of bad luck. The Redditor explains they were playing on Xbox One X, which could be the source of the problems. Many players have been reporting issues with Fortnite’s performance on console since the launch of Chapter 2.

Whatever the case may be, we’ll just have to hope Epic will get on it fast. To find out what bugs are currently being worked on, you can always head over to the game’s Trello board to see what’s been reported.
