Jude Bellingham has continued his excellent first season at Real Madrid by winning his first trophy with the Spanish giants.

The England international set up the first goal as a Vinicius Junior hat-trick inspired Los Blancos to a 4-1 win over Barcelona in the final of the Supercopa de Espana in Saudi Arabia.

Bellingham has been a revelation since moving to the Spanish capital from Borussia Dortmund last summer and has 17 goals and six assists in 24 appearances this season.

And now the 20-year-old has capped his excellent first six months in Spain with his first trophy, he will be keen to push for more with Carlo Ancelotti’s men still in contention to win La Liga, the Copa Del Rey and Champions League this term.

Following their success over their arch rivals in Sunday’s final, Bellingham celebrated in a unique manner alongside team-mates Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.

After spotting a GTA mock-up image of the trio on a banner in the crowd, Bellingham, 20, asked the fan if he could take it to pose for a photo with his team-mates.

Neville praises Bellingham for ignoring advice

After winning his first trophy with Real Madrid, Manchester United legend Gary Neville hailed the former Birmingham City youngster for ignoring his advice to join the Red Devils when he made the move to Dortmund back in 2020.

“I’ve spoken to a couple of players before they’ve come here and said ‘you’ll never regret it, it’s a magic football club’,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“But I have to say looking back, it looks like pretty poor advice with what’s happened to them since they’ve come and it’s really sad.

“They would have thrived at other clubs. Other players who have chosen other clubs have gone on to be really successful.

“You think of Jude Bellingham, and I think of that quite a lot, when he walks into the boardroom here at Man United, United have agreed a fee with Birmingham, and so have Dortmund.

“He has a choice between Dortmund and United. And somehow that kid, well done to him, chose Borussia Dortmund, and he’s now one of the greatest players in the world, one of the greatest English talents.

“What would have happened to him if he’d come here? I don’t know, maybe he would have been a success because he’s that good.

“I’m not so sure in the current environment and culture and what’s been happening.”
