Since Final Fantasy 7 Remake released in early 2020, players have been anxiously awaiting the sequel. That game is finally available, with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth marking the next chapter in what will be a trilogy.
Given the gap between Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth, though, it’s going to be a while until fans can enjoy what is sure to be an epic conclusion. Until then, those hungry for their FF7 fix will have to make do with Rebirth and other games in the series.
But does Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have a New Game Plus for those revisiting this middle piece of Cloud’s adventure?
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Is there a New Game Plus mode?
Square EnixYes, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has a New Game Plus mode, though its execution is a bit different from other games.
To access New Game Plus, you’ll need to have finished the story and saved the game. This completed save data is your key to New Game Plus.
From there, you’ll have access to Chapter Selection, allowing you to jump to whatever part of the story you want to play. Playing this way will carry over the following data from your save:
- Character levels
- Weapons, equipment, materia and items
- Gil
- Relationship levels
- Queen’s Blood Cards & Rank
- World and enemy intel
- Unlocked weapon and Folio skills
- Completed side quests (can be turned off)
Note that there are a couple of options for how to carry over side quests. The game allows you to carry over all progress from the current playthrough, from all previous playthroughs, or reset all quests.
Additionally, Chapter Selection is the only way to access Hard mode, which is a requirement if you want to unlock all of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s trophies.
