Here is the cheapest squad available for the Germany puzzle. This nation-based challenge isn’t locked to a league, so the Premier League offers a lot of different avenues to be able to finish the first of the two challenges.

Here is the currently cheapest squad for the Bundesliga portion of the SBC. The best thing about this solution is if you were already using Kimmich’s 87-rated CDM as part of your team, you can use him to collect the upgraded release.

Why was Kimmich given a Player’s Moment SBC?

While Bayern Munich’s defensive star has made a few more appearances in the center of the Bavarian powerhouse’s midfield, back in the 2016/17 Champions League his switch to the middle of the park was much more of a shock.

The bold swap from Carlo Ancelotti paid off, massively. The then-21-year-old banged in a double — including his first-ever UCL goal — in a 5–0 rout against their Russian opponents, and Kimmich was handed the player of the match plaudits.

“Every goal gives you a wonderful feeling, but to score twice in a game isn’t something you do often,” Kimmich told UEFA.com after his performance. “I can’t remember the last time I scored twice – maybe at youth level!”

Kimmich’s in-game stats and value

So is the Bundesliga defender-come-midfielder worth picking up for your Ultimate Team? At first glance, absolutely. Kimmich’s previous CDM card, an 87-rated IF from TOTW 11, has already been played a whopping 550,000 times.

Compared to that 87-rated choice, this Players Moments release is exceptional. In particular, a +7 boost fires Kimmich up to 80 pace, while his passing, defence, and physical stats all get +3 upgrades too — perfect for a controlling CDM.

Perhaps the best upgrade, however, comes in his work rates. While Kimmich’s base card, and his IF boost from TOTW11, suffer from low defense, high attack work rates, this new release has solved those issues, and he’s now high/high.

There is only one problem you may encounter: his height is just 5’9”, leaving him exposed to any headers he may be called upon to make, but his versatile stats across the board, as well as his accelerated pace, should make up for this.

You could pair the new 90-rated Kimmich with Munich teammate Robert Lewandowski in a Bundesliga squad.

Considering you can pair Kimmich’s new card with other premium Bundesliga options like Headliners Robert Lewandowski (93 ST) and Marco Reus (90 CAM), as well as defensive combo Flashback Mats Hummels and Winter Refresh Nico Schulz, it seems like a no-brainer to add the German midfielder to your collection.
