The Internet is torn by bizarre changes to McDonald’s uniform, allowing workers to now wear clothing like bucket hats and jeans.

McDonald’s is well known as one of the most popular fast food restaurants not only in America but also worldwide, boasting reasonably priced food with great taste to match (even if it’s slightly unhealthy).

One of the countries where McDonald’s has become a staple in many people’s lives is the UK, but recently there was a UK-wide uniform change that has the internet torn.

The change, currently in a trial phase, proposed that staff be able to wear more casual items of clothing like McDonald’s themed bucket hats, jeans, joggers, and bandanas.

While some loved the fast-food chain becoming more lenient, allowing workers to wear more comfortable clothing, others thought the new uniform looked absolutely horrendous.

Some people found it cool that workers now had the opportunity to create a more personalized look with the more diversified uniform choices being introduced.

Like you can choose any piece you want in any combination plus you can wear joggers and skirts,” one person praised. “Huge improvement, the maccas’ [McDonald’s] uniforms are the foulest in retail in my honest opinion,” agreed another.

However, others were not so convinced by the new uniform options. While they admitted they might be more comfy, they thought that the overall look was too bland, plus not logical:

“Looks too plain/unbranded IMO. The whole point of a staff uniform is so customers can recognize that you’re a staff member, doesn’t really work when the uniform looks like normal clothes for the most part,” one person pointed out.

Still, while the uniforms in the UK are undergoing massive change, the American uniforms will remain the same – and some wouldn’t even care if it did change, as long as the food still has the iconic McDonald’s taste.
