Bill Cooney

Popular Twitch streamer Dr. Disrespect stumbled upon an easter egg in Gearbox’s Borderlands 3 that plays off of his popular tagline: violence, speed and momentum.

The Doc is one of the top entertainers on Twitch and he’s built his community on the back of his mantra, which has become synonymous with the streamer at this point.

Anytime the two-time pops off, you can expect to see someone in chat bring it up, but now violence, speed and momentum have found their way into Borderlands 3.

A Dr. Disrespect easter egg in Borderlands 3?

Borderlands 3 comes out officially on September 13 for console players, but the game was available on PC at 4 PM PST on September 12 for PC players.

This means the game has already seen a lot of stream time and even though Dr. Disrespect wasn’t playing it on his channel, he couldn’t help but notice an homage to himself within the game.

The easter egg was found in an operative class mod called “Forceful Disruptor”, which grants +1 Violence, +1 Speed and +1 Momentum (along with +17 percent grenade radius).

Doc called it “the best mod in Borderlands 3” on Twitter, but it remains to be seen if the easter egg will be enough for him to play the game on stream.

There’s no way that a mod granting violence, speed and momentum was just randomly added into Borderlands 3, and Gearbox’s reply to the Doc’s discovery seems to confirm it was intentional.

Does this mean Doc will play Borderlands 3 on stream?

The Borderlands series is pretty popular and with the game coming out on Friday, September 13, it could be one of the site’s most-streamed games this weekend.

Of course, Doc is a big time fan, and CoD partner and with the Modern Warfare Multiplayer beta running through the weekend – there’s a good chance he’ll be sticking to that.

Dr. Disrespect hasn’t given any indication he’ll be playing Borderlands 3 at all, but there’s a better chance of him playing that than WoW Classic, which the streamer has been making fun of almost since release.

Whether or not the streamer decides to play Borderlands 3, he’ll still be sticking to his violence, speed and momentum.
