Brie Larson embraces memes of her reimagined as Animal Crossing villagers

Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson has responded to a viral Twitter meme that sees herself compared to several cute Animal Crossing villagers, and it seems as though she’s a fan!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is almost here, and players are ridiculously excited for it. The last mainline entry in the Nintendo franchise released in 2013, so it’s been a long, almost seven-year wait for the next instalment.

One fan decided to compare villagers from the series to Brie Larson, and some of the side-by-sides actually look pretty similar. They were so good, in fact, the Marvel actress herself responded and gave a nod of approval.

On February 23, Twitter user ‘tessaracts’ shared a post captioned “Brie Larson as Animal Crossing villagers; a thread” in which they uploaded a picture of money-hungry raccoon Tom Nook wearing a leaf print shirt next to a photograph of the 30-year-old in a similar outfit.

The tweet went viral with over 3,800 retweets and 21,700 likes, and caught so much attention, that the actress herself managed to see it and responded to it.

“Literal actual facts,” she quote-tweeted, clearly impressed by the creativity. The thread also included comparisons like villager June wearing a floral outfit, and Resetti raging out after the player reset their console without saving.

The California-born star responded again when another user replied with a picture of smug squirrel villager Marshal next to a picture of the actress as Envy Adams in movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

“I would like to add this,” the fan said, to which Larson quote-tweeted a second time with “Addendum to the actual literal facts!” as a follow up to her first one.

The comparison meme has been around for a while, with other versions including a whole horde of celebrities and their counterparts such as cartoon characters, flowers, and weirdly enough, fruits.
