Treyarch have revealed the in-game movement mechanics for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

This all has come during the May 17th worldwide Community Reveal Event for the upcoming title of the storied Call of Duty franchise.

Treyarch Design Director David Vonderhaar immediately addressed the question of how in-game movement will work in Black Ops 4.

The game will not feature the infamous thrust jumping and wall running mechanics of the previous Black Ops 3 title, and instead will have a full “boots on the ground” model.

In order to ensure that the pace of play is not severely impacted, players will be able to fully use their weapons while doing other actions, such as throwing grenades, activating abilities, and calling in scorestreaks.

Additionally, Black Ops 4 will include the ‘Ruin’ specialist which will have an exclusive grapple-hook item that will allow players using that specific specialist to move forward in accelerated fashion.

Here is a clip of the “guns up” mechanic of the Black Ops 4 in-game movement, as well as a look at how the ‘Ruin’ grapple-hook will work.
