The past few days have undoubtedly been an emotional period of time for fans of North American esports organization OpTic Gaming.

In what will go down as one of the most publicized roster moves in Call of Duty esports history, OpTic split up their championship roster after over three years of success and dominance.

One of the players that was on that roster was Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper, who has since left to join Luminosity Gaming.

Widely considered one of the best Assault Rifle players of all time, he played a key role in winning 18 major championships with OpTic, including his first ever World Championship in 2017.

Of course it was OpTic owner and CEO Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez who first recruited FormaL from Team EnVy.

Their relationship, which fruited great success over its 3+ year period, would surely hold a special meaning for both the owner and the player.

On May 9th, H3CZ posted a video on his Twitter account which featured some of his favorite memories of FormaL during his tenure with OpTic.

The emotional montage includes moments of comedy and success, highlighted by flashes of OpTic’s historic victory at the 2017 CWL Championship.
