MW2 rifle dominates with crazy TTK in Warzone but no one uses it

One of Modern Warfare 2’s most powerful battle rifles “fries” in Warzone with a deadly TTK, but pretty much everyone is sleeping on it right now.

When Modern Warfare 3’s Warzone update first launched, it wasn’t a surprise to see weapons from the new release immediately jump into the top spots in the meta. They were, at one point, the most powerful guns in the game and pretty much everyone was trying to level them up.

Fast forward, and, well, the meta has become pretty diverse. Sure, we still have SMGs, assault rifles, and a few LMGs ruling the roost, but they aren’t all from Modern Warfare 3. There are a fair few Modern Warfare 2 weapons that have proven themselves to be more than competitive choices – especially after the Season 1 Reloaded update.

So, if you’re one of those players who wants to revisit the MW2 guns, then you may want to take a look at the FTAC Recon as the battle rifle has one of Warzone’s best set of Time to Kill stats.

Best FTAC Recon loadout in Warzone for MW3

That’s according to Warzone expert WhosImmortal after he highlighted the battle rifle in his January 28 video as one of the fastest-killing guns in the battle royale.

“This has a 716 m/s TTK to about 47 meters and its damage ranges are insane. There isn’t a super significant harsh drop-off,” the YouTuber said. “It’s another high-skill weapon, you’ve got to land your shots to be good, but if you can it is going to fry.”

The only knock on the FTAC Recon in terms of the loadout is its small magazine size, and that’s even after using one of your attachment slots to bump it up to 15 rounds.

  • Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support
  • Optic: CorioEagleseye 2.5x
  • Stock: PSO Heavy
  • Magazine: 15-round mag

The battle rifle does have a bit of a bouncy recoil but if you’re picking off enemies and allowing the gun to recentre when firing, you should be able to find the rhythm of it pretty quickly.

While it is a high-skill weapon, you shouldn’t be scared off from giving it a try at least – you might find yourself falling in love with its power.
