The new Evil Geniuses squad featuring Adam “Assault” Garcia and Justin “SiLLY” Fargo have impressed since forming, but it turns out they have a secret weapon up there sleeves.

Well, not really, but a recent episode of ‘Up to Speed with EG COD’ may include a clue to their recent run of excellent form in Division A of the CWL Pro League.

After a shaky start to the CoD: WWII season, the original EG roster split after failing to qualify for playoffs at Stage One of the CWL Pro League.

Dropping Anthony “NAMELESS” Wheeler and Ian “Enable” Wyatt, they recruited SiLLY from eUnited and Assault from Echo Fox, in an effort to resolve the role issues which had marred the previous lineup.

And the improvements were seemingly immediate, as the new roster strolled through the winners bracket at CWL Seattle to reach the grand final

And they carried that form into Division A of the Pro League, currently sitting at 5-2 series count, and could easily be 6-1 had they closed out their tight match against Echo Fox.

The recent episode of Up to Speed follows the team following the conclusion of their first set of matches, and shows that their improvements are not just down to the help of their coach Bevils and fixing role issues.

After finding a group of kittens trapped in the air conditioning system, the whole EG roster takes the time to help rescue them, earning themselves some much needed ‘good juju’ ahead of Anaheim on June 15th.

“We tried to take care of them as best we could by feeding them and giving them water. We also found them a shelter in Columbus.

So we ended up rescuing all the cats and have a bunch of good karma heading our way. Hopefully we can cash in on that karma come Anaheim and top our performance from Seattle.”

Evil Geniuses are in Group C with UNILAD, Echo Fox and Mindfreak at Anaheim, with matches starting on Friday June 15th.
