CoDBurner leaks new intel on FaZe’s roster, Envy’s changes, OpTic, and more

Another day another bombshell post on Reddit as the Call of Duty esports insider known as the CoDBurner has dropped a fresh set of leaked intel yet again.

With the second roster change period of the CWL Pro League now open until April 22, the mysterious CoDBurner has been very active on social media, posting more behind-the-scenes information for the third day in a row on April 11.

His most recent post focuses on new developments with FaZe Clan’s potential roster, possible changes that Team Envy have made, OpTic Gaming’s role switch, and more, all of which can be found below.

Attach could return to FaZe Clan this season

According to the CoDBurner, FaZe Clan’s Dillon ‘Attach’ Price, who is on loan with Evil Geniuses, could be rejoining the org much sooner than expected after having “cried and begged EG to let him go.”

This would mean that FaZe’s roster could potentially feature Attach alongside Matthew ‘Skrapz’ Marshall, Trei ‘Zer0’ Morris, Thomas ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto, and McArthur ‘Cellium’ Jovel, once FaZe does acquire Red Reserve’s CWL Pro League spot.

It looks like Attach could be joining FaZe Clan this season after all, after the fee to return him from loan had initially been deemed to high.

Attach potentially rejoining FaZe this season is a new development after the CoDBurner had previously reported that the fee to end his loan spell with EG early would have too high for FaZe to pay.

At the time, it was believed that former eUnited man Jordan ‘JKap’ Kaplan would be joining FaZe as their fifth, but he’s reportedly agreed to join EG instead.

JKap - TwittereUnited’s JKap was to be FaZe’s new fifth, but he’s reportedly agreed to join Evil Geniuses.

Team Envy could make two roster changes

The CoDBurner has reported that Team Envy’s plans for this roster change period are to add 100 Thieves’ Maurice ‘Fero’ Henriquez and former Envy player Jacob ‘Decemate’ Cato in place of Adam ‘Assault’ Garcia and Bryan ‘Apathy’ Zhelyazkov.

Fero will be joining Envy on loan from 100T until the end of the season, while Decemate will simply be signed on from G2 Esports after having laid dormant following their failed CWL Pro League Qualifier.

It was initially believed that Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price would have also been dropped from the team, but he reportedly “talked to management and convince them to not drop him.”

The post also mentions that Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland preferred to bring on Excelerate Gaming star Carson ‘Brack’ Newberry, but instead settled for Fero.

Fero, who has been 100 Thieves’ sub since the CWL Pro League Qualifier, has apparently been loaned out to Team Envy.

OpTic Gaming role swap to take place

In the April 11 post, the CoDBurner continued to push the idea that OpTic Gaming will indeed be making making some sort of internal change, most likely a role swap between two or more players, even going as far as to claim that the changes have been made.

The CoDBurner had previously reported that Tyler ‘TeePee’ Polchow’s job security as the team’s coach was also under jeopardy, but Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell adamantly shut down those claims.

You can read up on the CoDBurner’s entire April 11 Reddit post below, which includes some more information in addition to what we’ve broken down above:

(4-11-19) getting close

things are at the point that i can say this stuff….

faze: skrapz zero celly zooma ATTACH……….faze was going to sign apathy but yesterday attach cried and begged eg to let him go so they did bc i heard they dont wanna spend alot of money on cod. it was supposed to be jkap as the 5th but he went to eg to play with attach and he got finessed bc attach dipped on him lol. Anyone who says this was done before yesterday was lieing since even faze didnt think it was happening until attach begged and cried.

nv: huke dece silly aches fero……….100t loaned out jay the rest of the season…..huke wanted brack though…..aches talked to management and convinced them to not drop him

denial: alex is joining the red reserve 3 of joe bance and rated….brack offered 10 k a month but didnt sign yet. The frenchies are being lied to by the owner.

eg: jkap and felo…they wanted brack skrapz and zero but all of them said no….they let attach go for free bc he cried hard i heard so now they might have to call back players they dropped and ask them to come back…embarassing lol. Likely place for apathy and assault now.

Fugaze is still unsigned and doesnt know where he wants to go yet and teams are offering him 12 k a month plus rent…so kinda like the clayster deal….he wont go to a team where he has to run icr and wants to use tempest

Returning for his final event of the Call of Duty League offseason, Team Summertime’s Davis ‘Hitch’ Edwards is hosting an enormous Black Ops 2 Invitational featuring former champions and popular content creators.

Throwback tournaments have been all the rage throughout the 2020 offseason and no one has been leading the charge quite like Hitch. Outside of hosting Warzone comps, his unique tournaments have spanned from Modern Warfare 2 to Black Ops 4. This time, his sights are set on 2012’s Black Ops 2.

Despite hackers ruining an early test for this particular event, the kinks have all seemingly been worked out. From former championship-winning teams to some of the biggest content creators, Hitch’s final event is set to be the biggest yet.

From how you can tune in, to every player joining the all-star Call of Duty event, we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything there is to know about the Black Ops 2 Invitational.

How to watch the Black Ops 2 Invitational

The final event of the offseason is set to kick off on Wednesday, October 28. Opening matchups went live at 3PM EST (12PM PT) and the broadcast will likely run for most of the day.

As per usual, it’s all expected to be featured on Hitch’s own Twitch stream which we’ve embedded below. A majority of the players and creators will likely be sharing their own perspectives throughout the event as well.

Black Ops 2 Invitational teams & bracket

Some squads feature some of the most successful Call of Duty veterans while others consist of popular streamers. Regardless, every team is stacked with FPS talent so expect some close matchups.

Standing out among the eight rosters is a true throwback. The 2014 world championship team of Crimsix, Karma, TeePee, and ACHES, will be reuniting. Formerly representing Complexity and then Evil Geniuses, these four players haven’t been on the same team since 2014.

The full list of teams competing in the Black Ops 2 Invitational can be found below.

The biggest thing to note about this tournament’s format is that it’s being played on mouse and keyboard, unlike true competitive Call of Duty, which has always been played using controllers.
