Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be free with PlayStation Plus for PlayStation 4 for the coming month.

The game will be available for download by PlayStation Plus members from June 11
to July 11.

The announcement was made during the Sony pre-show at E3 2018, where Treyarch is also showing off their upcoming sequel to the title, Black Ops 4.

In addition to the availability of Black Ops 3 for PlayStation Plus members, it was also announced that four fan-favorite classic maps from the Black Ops series will be added to Black Ops 3 for players who pre-order Black Ops 4 on the PlayStation store.

The maps being added are:

  • Slums
  • Jungle
  • Firing Range
  • Summit

Remakes of these maps were originally announced as launch maps for Black Ops 4, but now will also be added to Black Ops 3 in a “Back in Black” map pack.

Black Ops 4 is scheduled for release on October 12 – a slight departure from the traditional November release for Call of Duty titles. Players who pre-order the game will also gain access to the beta, which is planned for August.
