KSI has slammed Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson

KSI has hit out at Jake Paul after it was announced he will face former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson in his next fight.

Netflix blindsided boxing fans on Thursday when they announced Paul would face Tyson on Saturday, July 20, at Texas’ AT&T Stadium.

The fight will be available to all Netflix subscribers without any extra charge but it is unconfirmed whether it will be a professional bout or an exhibition fight.

Most Valuable Promotions’ co-founder Nakisa Bidarian believes the bout will be the “most watched event in modern boxing history”, while Paul has described the bout as a “fight of a lifetime”.

However, Paul’s long time rival KSI is less than convinced. The pair have been on a collision course for years and both share a loss to Tommy Fury, brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, inside the ring.

Given the clamor to see KSI and Paul share the ring, the British YouTube star did not hold back with his verdict after Paul’s fight against the 57-year-old was announced.

“50+ years old,” KSI said of Tyson via his X account. “No one wanted this. So sad to see man.”

However, Paul took to X with a message of his own about the fight.

“Promotion promotion promotion if I’m being honest it don’t need that,” Paul tweeted. “The biggest fight of the 21st century, in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world…that’s the MVP way.

“Whether you’re tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event.

“I could not be more excited to make this amazing fight available to all Netflix subscribers alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson, on Saturday, July 20th.

“My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to sleep.”
