Francis Ngannou bashes Tyson Fury at Anthony Joshua press conference

Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury got into a vicious verbal spat during Ngannou and Anthony Joshua’s heavyweight press conference on Wednesday.

Ngannou and Joshua were the ones expected to trade insults. However, things took a disrespectful turn once the former boasted about his debut boxing performance against Fury.

The lineal heavyweight champion defended his pride and clapped back in the audience before Ngannou delivered a crushing blow to Fury’s toughness.

Ngannou talked up his boxing prowess by gloating over his knockdown against Fury. The 37-year-old confidently proclaimed that he won their first fight.

Fury didn’t take that too kindly. He shouted back at Ngannou. Then, Ngannou went off the rails as DAZN shared on X:

“You’re gonna slip in the octagon again, and I’m going to wipe the ring with your a** again,” Ngannou said regarding a potential rematch with the Brit.

“I’ll tell you, your only chance is in the ring, in the boxing ring with the boxing rules. When you step off of that ring you better stay five meter away before I [unintelligible] your s***, because if I lose it, you’re gonna have a really bad time my friend.”

The war of words highlighted a rather uneventful third press conference between Ngannou and Joshua.

Both fighters and their camps declared a win on Friday. Ngannou’s coach Dewey Cooper alliteratively promised that “the flaming, ferocious fists of Francis will finish Anthony Joshua.”

The victor will likely get a shot at Fury. Implications for the fight couldn’t be higher.
