There are a lot of secrets to be found in Baldur’s Gate 3, but it looks like players might be scraping at the bottom of the barrel with this new Halsin theory.

Halsin has been in a bit of a strange position ever since the game launched. In contrast to the rest of the potential party members, players haven’t connected with him in the same way that they have with fan favorites like Astarion and Karlach.

The druid may not have received as much love as the rest of his companions, but that hasn’t stopped players from investigating what his deal is- and his bear form seems to be under the spotlight.

If you’ve seen any news about Baldur’s Gate 3, chances are you’ve seen the headlines detailing the surprisingly romantic options you can pursue with a bear, which is a consequence of romancing Halsin.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players think Halsin was just a bear this whole time

But now players are wondering if the bear form is actually the real Halsin, and the human side is the transformation.

One eagle-eyed player proposed: “Halsin has mentioned that he keeps forgetting to shapeshift out of being a bear. And then we have the famous Halsin scene… What if Halsin actually just is a bear that has become a druid and is shapeshifting into a humanoid?”

It wouldn’t be the first time something like this pops up in the game. The player also noted that: “In the druid camp we can talk to the cow and the cow more or less goes on a quest to try and become a druid.”

So maybe Halsin was in a similar situation but was simply more successful? Stranger things have definitely happened in this game.
