Apex Legends’ Season 20 is off to a hot start, and the new Straight Shot LTM is one particular highlight, as fans are lobbying for it to become a permanent mode.

Apex Legends‘ limited-time modes, aka LTMs, have been some of the standouts of the battle royale, letting Respawn Entertainment flex their creativity via unique spins on the game’s formula.

Some have landed very well with the community, like Three Strikes, which left and was brought back twice due to such high praise. Others, not so much, such as the maligned Revenant Uprising LTM.

Season 20 introduced a new LTM at launch to coincide with the fifth anniversary of Apex Legends. Unsurprisingly enough, it’s garnered widespread love and community pleas for it to become permanent.

Apex Legends players praise Straight Shot LTM

Straight Shot is the newest LTM to join Apex Legends, featuring a shorter version of the standard battle royale. Thirty players drop in a random POI, with an emphasis on faster pacing, and a streamlined loot system.

Needless to say, the mode’s arrival has landed very well with the player base, especially in the game’s subreddit. Apex player Kona_Conch shared their thoughts on the mode needing to become permanent: “Straight Shot is fast-paced but still feels like Apex and a BR. Just more action-packed in a shorter amount of time.”

They go on to state Straight Shot has become the new casual mode for them and their friends. They weren’t the only ones with praise for the mode, as others chimed in. “I like this mode to warm up for ranked. Much better than sitting in the Firing Range for 20 minutes and shooting at dummies,” one player said.

One player even said it jumped up the ranks above Three Strikes: “I agree, I think I even like it over Three Strikes and I never thought I’d say that.”

Of course, plenty of other threads in the game’s subreddit highlight the love for Season 20’s standout LTM.

Straight Shot is set to leave at the end of February. However, given the success of prior LTMs, it may be possible this one will stick around or return.
