Apex Legends has long been one of the most popular battle royales, and following the release of the Season 20 update, players believe the game could be in the best state it’s ever seen. Season 20’s release on February 13 didn’t bring any massive additions to the game, such as a new map or Legend, but it was still a huge breath of fresh air.
Notably, the update brought the highly-anticipated next-generation console upgrade, allowing Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 players to finally experience 120hz gameplay. Not only that, the update saw an overhaul to the Ranked system, as well as the addition of Legend Upgrades and tons of Legends balancing.
Apex Legends players claim Season 20 is “best yet”
In a Reddit post on February 19, Apex players are praising the Respawn devs, claiming Season 20 is the “best yet.”
“Anyone else think this is one of the best seasons in Apex yet?” one player wrote. However, they acknowledged they still haven’t tested the waters yet with Ranked in Season 20, explaining Straight Shot LTM is their “favorite mode” they’ve seen in the game.
“The requeue feature is amazing, and the fast-paced looting and fights just make it so much more fun for someone with the attention span of a goldfish like me,” they said.
The player added: “The Evo shield changes are a blessing. Shield swaps are always worth it. Same with replicators – simple and there are no downsides to using them. The map rotations are good too.”
Despite its fair few challenges, such as lag “ruining” the game according to some, many in the replies felt the same, agreeing that Season 20 is the “best in a long time.”
“Absolutely loving the changes they’ve implemented, to be honest. Was super excited for this season, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Honestly a breath of fresh air, good job Respawn,” a player wrote.
“Removal of hidden MMR in ranked alone makes it one of the best seasons yet,” one claimed. “Everything else is just a bonus.”
Since its release, Apex players have fallen in love with the new Straight Shot LTM, with many pleading for it to stay permanent or at least for the rest of the Season. However, we’ll just have to wait and see if the devs implement that feedback.
