In the mid-season 3 update for Apex Legends, two new unreleased legends were added to the game’s files, including their name and abilities. Here’s everything we know about new character ‘Conduit’.

The first legend we looked at was Forge, who was added at the same time, described as an “augmented brawler” – you can check out his full list of abilities here.

There was even some clues in the game files that suggested that Forge could in fact be the next legend added, for Season 4. It was previously expected that Rosie (aka Loba) would be the next legend.

Alongside Forge though, was another new character, still in development, called ‘Conduit’. Thanks to prolific data miner That1MiningGuy, we now know a lot more about this character from the game files.

Respawn EntertainmentRosie was expected to be the next legend added to the game.

Alongside Forge, Conduit was first leaked on November 5, but there was very little to go on for his character, with only code attached, and no image. The code does tell us his tentative abilities though, and he is described as an “Overshield Conductor.”

What are Conduit’s abilities?

  • Tactical: Arc Flash: Deals damage to Conduit’s shields to give targeted allies an overshield.
  • Passive: Capacitance: Conduit’s base health is 50 health and 50 shield, instead of 100 health. Conduit gradually regenerates shield over time.
  • Ultimate: Short Circuit: Conduit channels their shields into a giant arc ball that flies across the battlefield, stealing shields from enemies.

What is Overshield in Apex Legends?

You’ll notice that ‘overshield’ is not currently a thing in Apex Legends, but That1MiningGuy explains that it is a new item set to release in the future.

Although not confirmed, the leaker believes that overshield could be referring to the previously leaked ‘evolving body shield’. This is a special type of shield that improved depending on how many kills a player gets.

It’s likely that if overshield is added, then Conduit would be added at the same time, to complement the new item.

It’s clear from these abilities that Conduit is a form of shield support legend, which is similar to another previously leaked character, Immortal.

Immortal’s abilities were slightly different though, as he was able to repair his own and teammates’ sheilds by releasing a ‘cloud of Nanites’. Immortal’s leaked Ultimate allows him to completely restore full health and shield.

When will Conduit be added to Apex Legends?

So far, Respawn have only added on new legend per season. For Season 4, it was expected this would be Rosie (aka Loba), but this is not confirmed. Leaks not only hinted at Forge coming as a character in the next season, but possibly more.

The code was written ‘season4chars’ – the plural potentially indicating that for the first time, Respawn will add more than one legend.

Purely by the fact that Conduit was added to the game files at the same time as Forge, it’s possible that they’re both going to be added together.

Currently, though, this is all unconfirmed, and with these legends still in development, anything could happen. As always, data mined leaks are the best kind that we have, but are never guarantees of what is to come.

Apex Legends developer Daniel Klein has revealed the five most popular legends from Season 7 – and it should come as no surprise that Horizon is right up there already.

As the Apex Legends seasons have unfolded, it’s been easy for players to chop and change the legends they use seeing as a new character is introduced which each major, season starting update.

The new character always receives huge attention as players want to test out the new content, but sometimes, they don’t stick around and can immediately fall to the bottom of the pile once fans are seemingly bored with them.

In the case of Horizon and Apex Legends Season 7, she has been able to stick around as one of the most played legends – even cementing her spot amongst some of the battle royale’s long-term favorites.

Wraith still leads the way as Apex’s most-used legend.

Speaking on The Third Party: An Apex Legends podcast, Respawn Senior Game Designer Daniel Klein revealed how the list of most played legends in the new season had started to shape up.

“Wraith, Bloodhound, Horizon, Octane, and then Lifeline, that’s the pick order right now,” Klein told the podcast hosts in relation to the top five, noting that Horizon had started to settle in the top five after her initial explosion in use.

Octane being so high might surprise a few players, and as Klein points out, he doesn’t “win a lot of games,” but he’s so fun to play because of his speedy abilities. Klein also noted that there is an “interesting situation” with Bloodhound because they have a high pick rate, but they don’t win a lot of games.

Additionally, the Apex developer revealed that Loba has also seen a rise in her trios win rate after her Ultimate received a bit of a shake up at the start of Season 7. Though, he didn’t note just how popular and used that she has become.

As the season unfolds, some currently lesser-played legends might see a boost in usage after Respawn rolls out patches, so, we’ll have to wait and see as to whether or not the top five is shaken up or if it stays the same moving forward.
