Jujutsu Kaisen theory could mean the end for fan-favorite character

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga just delivered another textbook cliffhanger, and fans believe a beloved hero might be about to meet his end.

We’ve seen all sorts of highs and lows in Jujutsu Kaisen across the anime and manga. Learning about Geto and Gojo’s turbulent relationship made Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Season 2 of the anime a heart-wrenching affair, while the manga, considerably ahead in chapters, has killed several characters amid some gruesome battles.

One such fight is currently happening, as in Chapter 250 of the manga, Yuta is caught in a scuffle with Sukuna, the King of Curses. Sukuna isn’t an easy opponent, but then Yuta might be the strongest Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerer there is. Nonetheless, fans are starting to suspect Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami might have something dastardly up his sleeve.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans think Yuta might die on Valentine’s Day

Chapter 251 comes out just after Valentine’s Day, on February 14, and fans think Akutami could kill Yuta on that date. Yuta’s most powerful ability is Authentic Mutual Love, making it a fitting time to execute such a twist.

At the end of Chapter 250, Yuta has just managed to use one of Sukuna’s attacks against him, the powerful Cleave, and now the King of Curses is planning his counter. Yuta could very well meet his end with what’s coming – that’d be a powerful twist that would send shockwaves through the franchise and fandom.

But, there is a flaw with this theory, as pointed out on Reddit. Chapter 251 is coming on February 18, so well clear of Valentine’s Day. If Akutami was planning somehhing for the lover’s holiday, he’d be going by when leaks generally arrive, and that’s not something anyone on the creative side sets their watch to.

That doesn’t necessarily count out the idea, it just strains the perfect timing. I couldn’t confidently say either way what Akutami will choose to do, but killing Yuta would be a big move, and if it happens, I’ll be as shocked as anyone.
