“Sick” Jeffrey Dean Morgan thriller climbs Netflix chart
RJLE FilmsNetflix viewers have praised a “sick” Jeffrey Dean Morgan thriller after it climbed the streamer’s top 10 chart, despite it having a low score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Morgan initially found fame with his role as John Winchester, the father of Dean and Sam, in The CW’s Supernatural. This led to larger parts, such as Denny Duquette in Grey’s Anatomy and Edward Blake aka The Comedian in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen recognition.
Then came his biggest performance to date: Negan, The Walking Dead’s bat-twirling, skull-smashing villain who made his long-awaited debut in Season 7. He reprised the role in Dead City, a spinoff also starring Lauren Cohan as Maggie.
He’s made seven movies since his arrival in AMC’s zombie-verse, and one of them has leaped onto Netflix’s streaming podium – despite critics branding it “rotten.”

It hasn’t managed to dethrone The Hill, Dennis Quaid’s faith-based sports biopic about Rickey Hill, a baseball player who defied the odds to become a legendary minor league player.
The film is based on James Patterson and Liza Marklund’s 2010 novel The Postcard Killers, with the synopsis reading: “A New York detective investigates the death of his daughter who was murdered while on her honeymoon in London; he recruits the help of a Scandinavian journalist when other couples throughout Europe suffer a similar fate.”
Its 24% Rotten Tomatoes score certainly doesn’t indicate a must-see. The Hollywood Reporter described it as “all too familiar, recalling not only such far superior films as Se7en, but also countless episodes of such television procedurals as the CSI and Criminal Minds franchises,” while Observer wrote: “The problem is, there is no fun.”
Yet, Netflix viewers have been checking it out in spades over the weekend. “The Postcard Killings on Netflix is SICK,” one wrote.
