According to a new rumors, the upcoming Marvel film The Fantastic Four could see two duel storylines within its plot.

Marvel‘s upcoming film The Fantastic Four is one of the most anticipated part of Phase 6 as it will introduce a new generation to the universe’s first family.

Consisting of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the Fantastic Four help to protect the world from various threats.

While the film’s casting was recently announced, not much is known about the plot, but there’s an ongoing rumor that may suggest the movie will have two separate storylines running through it.

Fantastic Four may follow two action-packed storylines

Thanks to a tip by Beyond The Trailer‘s Grace Randolph, the upcoming Fantastic Four film will have two ongoing storylines running through it.

“The other thing that I heard was that the script has two storylines together,” Randolph said, “The comparison I heard was a little bit like Greta Gerwig’s Little Women. I did not hear what the two timelines or storylines were, one in the past or one in the future.”

Since the cast poster was first released, many fans speculated that the movie will take place sometime in the 1960s, as the original comic series began in 1961.

If one looks closely to the poster, you can see that the cast is wearing their original ’60s costumes along with being aided by H.E.R.B.I.E, a experimental robot who was created for the 1978 animated series The New Fantastic Four.

It’s safe to believe that, if the movie has two timelines, fans could see the Fantastic Four as a fully fledged group in the present while bouncing back to the past to see how they got their powers.

This double storyline would be a great way to give fans an origin story while also focusing on a larger narrative, especially since we got two origin stories in both the 2005 and 2015 Fantastic Four adaptations.
